Custom Press Forging Services
Milwaukee Forge offers steel press forging services appropriate for a number of applications across many industries. We produce customer specified parts from carbon and alloy steels using closed impression dies, at temperatures of 2100 to 2300 °F.
Possible part dimensions up to 18” in length, and up to 13” in diameter, with allowable forging weights of 2 to 100 lbs. We have 1300 ton, 2500 ton, and 4000 ton press capacity, and can hold tight tolerances of ±0.030”. Our secondary process options include heat treating such as normalizing, annealing, and quenching; machining and cleaning are also available. This process is suited for larger volume production where tighter tolerances are desired.
We conduct a barrage of testing and inspections to ensure the accuracy and quality of our materials and finished products, such as metallurgical, tensile and yield tests, as well as magnetic particle, dimensional, and grain flow analysis inspections.

Custom Hammer Forging Services
In addition to our press forging capabilities, Milwaukee Forge offers premium custom hammer forging services, utilizing closed impression dies. This hot forging process forms carbon and alloy steels into customized shapes with 1500 to 4000 lbs of air driven hammer pressure and a forging temperature of 2100°F to 2300°F.
Part sizes are possible up to 18” in length, and up to 14” diameter, handling weights of 2 lbs. to 100 lbs. Our forging capabilities can hold tolerances as low as ± .030”. We provide secondary processes which include machining and cleaning, along with normalizing, quenching, tempering and annealing, as well as other heat treating options. Our engineers work to design customized solutions to fit client needs, manufacturing all dies in-house.
The custom hammer forging process is suited perfectly to lower volume runs. We efficiently handle short to medium volume, with all of our products and processes meeting stringent industry standards. We ensure the quality and integrity of our work with thorough testing including metallurgical, tensile, yield and elongation tests, as well as a full spectrum of in-process and after-process inspections such as grain flow analysis.
