Covid-19 Guidance for America
On March 16, the President issued updated Coronavirus (COVID-19) guidance for America. The guidance stated that: “If you work in a critical infrastructure industry, as defined by the Department of Homeland Security, such as the Department of Defense, Healthcare Services and pharmaceutical and food supply, you have a special responsibility to maintain your normal work schedule.”
The Defense Priorities and Allocation System (DPAS) under authority of the Defense Production Act of 1950, Food & Agriculture, Transportation, and Energy sector(s) are listed as essential critical infrastructure workers, by the Department of Homeland Security. Keeping all producers and those involved in infrastructure and energy production up and running with machinery, maintenance, parts and financing are essential to our ability to support critical infrastructure needs across the nation.
Milwaukee Forge continues to operate in the face of COVID-19 because our business, as designated by the President of the United States and the United States Department of Homeland Security, is essential to ensuring community and national resilience and wellbeing.
Suppliers to Milwaukee Forge and your suppliers further within the supply chain connected to fulfilling our purchase orders are urged to create operational and contingency plans that enable continued supply to Milwaukee Forge as uninterrupted as possible.
Please advocate with your state legislators and governor’s office to follow the federal guidelines related to this matter.
